Have All Musicians Become Gullible ? Musician Marketing Mindset #2

Have All Musicians Become Gullible ? Musician Marketing Mindset #2 Have All Musicians Become Gullible? Musician Marketing Mindset #2 So I got this email from a music website about 2 days ago, claiming that some of my fans on Youtube have voted for my channel to be featured on their website. 🎹 My Blog 👉: http://bit.ly/N0lTYx Sub My Channel: http://buff.ly/2jkg81x Hay It's Dan Here From The Corporatethief Beats This the full Video Description So I go this email from a music webiste saying my channel had won an award. Best Of Youtube 2017 {it was titled} Naturally, the skeptic in me made do some research before I clicked on any links from a website I don't know or heard of. So I copied the link and entered into Google and up cropped that website. Pulsemusic dot Tv it was called so I clicked it. It look like a regular plain free WordPress blog. It had some basic information and videos of some musicians on the front page. Nothing special just a basic blog with some video. I went back to the email and clicked on the link. This took me to the same site. This time it had special page for me with and Facebook activation link on it. When I clicked on the Facebook activation link it just took me to my Facebook and expected me to share pulsemusic's blog on my Facebook page. I declined doing this step as I wanted to dig just a little deeper. After some more research I noticed that their were a tons of musicians on Twitter and Facebook claim that they have been nominated for the same best of Youtube award. And that you had to vote for them to win. I CAN FEEL A FACEPALM COMING 😳 All these musicians clearly didn't do any research to see if this blog was worth the feature. Also no musician checked if this blog is just using them to promote the blogs own agenda. I popped the url of this site into SEM Rush {a Website Traffic Spy Tool} just to see if the site had any search traffic from Google. And I knew it didn't as the site just looks too basic to get traffic. Also I noticed that the site was running a small paid promotion which would give you a spotlight feature on the front page. If I am honest I don't think the site owner of pulse music dot tv is intentionally out to deceive musicians. I think that they are genuinely out trying to create a real music blog. So what's the problem then? I just think that all these musicians have become so gullible and never conducted any research to see if it was a blog that is worth being featured on? I have seen this vote for me stuff before on certain mixtape sites and it's a complete waste of time. Do any musicians do any kind of research before they get a random email that ego strokes their creative side? Are we confident or optimistic? Or we just don't care as long as someone tell's us that we are the greatest musician on the planet? So to wrap this point up, Do some basic research of any site that what wants to feature your music. Especially if you have to pay them. Not every opportunity is worth your time. Instead focus on building a connection with the fans you have.
